Information about the Project Partner

Project Partner ØKOKRIM is a Norwegian prosecution authority having competence to investigate economic and environmental crimes. The model of organisation of the work of ØKOKRIM, which includes the concentration of pre-trial investigation, prosecution and specific competences, enable an effective prosecution of the crimes of the given category. The Partner’s work experience in the prosecution of complex economic and financial crimes, work organisation practice, as well as competence in the field of communication could greatly contribute to strengthening the activities of the Prosecution Service. It should be noted that cooperation with the Project Partner would cover not only the field of prosecution of certain categories of crimes, but also the general issues concerning the organisation of prosecutions, including assessment of the effectiveness and quality of proceedings. Project activities are related to the problems arising in both countries, therefore it is expected that joint activities will contribute to the improvement of institutional activities, including practical cooperation in specific cases.

The Project Partner will provide expert assessment for evaluations and recommendations to be made during implementation of the Project, and will participate in the training activities for the Lithuanian prosecutors.
